A Selection of Brookside Landscape Designs
Project Showcases
Silverdale Forest Refuge
This customer wanted a place for their family to enjoy spending time together and enjoying some campfires. They had a great spot tucked back away into the tree line of their property.
Before

The project began with a partially cleared out section of woods. There were several stumps, lots of roots, but a lot of potential. We started by clearing all the organic debris
During
Our team worked hard through the chilly January cold and rain to transform the space. The process involved:
- Clearing the organics (lots of roots and stumps) and removing debris.
- Limited but not impossible machine access
- Lots of mud
- Setting the largest tread in Brookside Landscape and Design history up to that point
- Building a paver patio with built in wood burning fire pit
- Setting a boulder seat wall that serves two purposes. Retaining the hill and providing extra seating around the perimeter of the fire pit while still being able to feel the warmth

Challenges
During the project, we encountered a few challenges, including:
- Cold weather: This project kicked off at the beginning of January, which in Silverdale and just Washington in general is cold and wet.
- Lots of mud: The PNW can get pretty wet this time of year and when you mix rain and bare dirt, you get, you guessed it, MUD and lots of it.
- Setting the largest tread: This project involved setting one of the largest commercially available step treads. It was 6 feet long and 30 inches wide and 7 inches thick, weighing in at over 1300 pounds.
Even though the mud, the rain, and the cold we were able to totally transform this space into a backyard retreat.
After

The result is a stunning and functional outdoor space that this family can enjoy for years to come. The new landscape features:
